One of the great features of Wellington is its compact nature. There is a diverse range of things to see and do without having to travel very far. Basing yourself in a central location such as ours in Mt Victoria, certainly helps - especially if you are here on a short visit. Below are some of the the attractions you can get to within a 5 to 35 minute walk from our front door.

Amongst the corporate office blocks, Willis St and Lambton Quay constitute the main shopping thoroughfare of downtown Wellington.

Cable Car & Botanic Gardens
Catch the Cable Car on Lambton Quay to get to the top of the Botanic Gardens featuring impressive displays of tulips in spring and roses in summer.

Parks and Walking Tracks
The Greenbelt offers fresh air, fine views, energetic walks and mountain bike trails through bush and park on tracks leading up to the summit of Mt Victoria.

Mt Victoria Lookout
Spectacular vantage point on the summit affording superb views of the city, harbour and the mountain ranges beyond. A must see in order to appreciate the geography of Wellington. For the less energetic, it is also reachable by car or bus.
